Vote for wild card in “Best Job in the World” competition

Did you make the cut?

The field of applicants for “The Best Job in the World,” which Scott blogged about a few months ago, has been narrowed down to 50.

Lucky bunch.

“Job” is a pretty loose term for the Island Caretaker role, considering it includes exploring the Queensland islands and clearing the stray leaf while swimming in the pool. The competition has been the talk of the social networks ever since it debuted, and I, for one, will be curious to know who the winner will be.

But that’s where we can help make the news, rather than just wait for it. The next cut will be down to 11—one of whom will be a wild card, chosen in a vote by the people. So check out the videos and have your say! (It’s interesting to see what it took to get noticed by Tourism Queensland—some of the videos are pretty creative.) Voting ends in 20 days, on March 24th. You can even cast yours once a day, if you’d like.

I’m not lucky enough to have visited Hamilton Island, but I consider the nearby Whitehaven Beach one of my all-time favorite beaches. I’ve just met someone who has been to Hamilton Island, though, and he reports that it’s quite lovely (an understatement!).

By the way, did anybody here apply for the position? Let us know if you did!

    Rescues Kim!
I thought that Kim is a specialty, and care manner person. I saw has many people to the point of view is subject to duty this work, but I thought that she is not such person. Perhaps some people is good at performing, movie also very fancy. But is this work’s core not that environmental protection ‘ care ‘ continues forever to develop like three goals? Now the great barrier reef ecology moves toward feebly day after day , we need to have a person who has sincerity to treasure it the to manage it, but is not throws the ticket to the human who is good at performing , like this we and the later generation descendants can forever appreciate guarantee the reef beautiful scene, also can avoid letting it move toward the historical noun the regret, DO you want yours and your descendants can appreciate guarantees the reef greatly? That throws the ticket to Kim! In all participants, only then she can accomplish, please throw a your sacred ticket to her! Thanks!
