Help make a difference. Get involved in Pangea Day.

“If the whole world were watching, what story would you tell?” That’s what I read when I opened the Pangea Day website and it hit me like slap.

The world has uncountable issues. Traveling and living in different cultures opens your eyes and minds to what’s going on outside your comfort zone. The resulting impact can be revealing or tormenting, either of which could inspire you to contribute to making a difference.

Until recently, we’ve only heard about world problems through a handful of mainstream media. Now, with converging technologies and increased access to the Internet, the world is shrinking and more and more people are getting to tell their stories so we can see things through their eyes.

This is the idea that Pangea Day — May 10 — aims to capitalize on. On this day, you might have the opportunity to project your story of a world issue in form of a movie that will be live video-conferenced in Cairo, Dharamsala, Kigali (Rwanda), London, New York City, Ramallah, Rio de Janeiro, and Tel Aviv.

It’s an exciting and meaningful project to be involved with; so if you have seen something that has had a strong impact on you, and you wished the media would pay more attention to it than Britney Spears, now is your chance to help make that happen, by creating a movie of it. As they say on their website: “Movies alone can’t change the world, but people who watch them, can.”

Check out their website for full details.
