Updatum: Tony Perrottet and David Stanley interviews

In the process of trying to get back on the road in Asia, I let my RolfPotts.com updates slide a bit, but now -- just a month or so late -- we're back up to speed. A new Update page is online at RolfPotts.com, including links to recent travel writer interviews. This month I talk with Tony Perrottet, the Esquire and Outside writer who penned Route 66 A.D.: On the Trail of the Ancient Roman Tourists (released in paperback this month under the title Pagan Holiday). This book made several "Best of 2002" lists, and I'm currently in the process of reading it myself. My very tardy March interview was with pioneering guidebook writer David Stanley, whose bestselling guidebooks include destinations such as Eastern Europe, the South Pacific, and Canada's maritime provinces.

I came across this site by chance and found no description of what it's about. Anyone care to elaborate?
