Sosauce Travel Internship
Win: Eight-week marketing internship, followed by a two-week socially conscious travel experience.
To apply: Register at Sosauce.com. Write a journal entry describing a social/environmental issue you would like to explore. Submit a resume and cover letter. Open to college students or anyone a few years out of college.

Bradt/Independent on Sunday travel writing competition
Win: Trip for two to Columbia
To apply: Write a travel article (in 800 words or less) on the theme “Destination Unknown.” Open to anyone 18 years or older, worldwide.

Two writing fellowships at The Writers’ Colony at Dairy Hollow:
The Gorrell-Nelson Travel Writing Fellowship?(Four-week residency)
The Hagin-Kaye Travel Writing Fellowship?(Two-week residency)
Win: Free residency at Writers’ Colony at Dairy Hollow in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Includes private suite with writing space, private bath, wireless/cable, uninterrupted writing time, prepared dinner five nights a week, and the camaraderie of other writers. To be scheduled June 15-December 10, 2009.

    Thanks for the websites. The Sosauce Travel Internship seems interesting. Too bad I did not know about it sooner. I would be interested in a socially conscious travel experience. It would be writing about the same old, same old destination articles. Those aren’t for me. I prefer articles that have substance to them and that make me think. But that’s just me.
