National novel writing month

Are you a writer at heart but you just can’t do more than morning pages without getting stuck?  Are you looking forward to having a great many hours on public transportation with only your tiny netbook for company?

November is National Novel Writing Month (that’s NaNoWriMo, for those in the know…or the No)!  If you’re looking for a way to entertain yourself, keep up with a great community of other novel writers, and produce some valuable pages on your magnum opus, join in!  Anyone can do it.  All you have to do is write a novel (although I think they’ve expanded it to “any book”, but the old school version is a novel) of 50,000 words or more.  All you need is 50,000 words in one month to feel satisfied about your self and your production level.

Set arbirtrary, but oh-so-realistic goals!  Start novelizing your travel diaries!  Write a murder mystery with a vagabonder for a heroine!  Join NaNoWriMo!
