Introducing our seven new Vagabloggers
Last month Justin Glow posted a call for new bloggers here at Vagablogging — and we got quite a big response. Now, after a little preliminary screening, we’ve decided to debut seven Vagabloggers, starting tomorrow.
Since a couple of my favorite online indie travel resources are TransitionsAbroad.com and BootsnAll.com, I recruited my first two bloggers directly from their ranks. Gregory Hubbs, online editor for Transitions Abroad, will be showcasing the best travel content from his archives once a week, and BootsnAll community manager Jessica Spiegel will be sharing weekly content from the extensive BnA travel community.
Elsewhere, Justin will be passing his “collective travel mind” torch to a team of five new trial bloggers. In alphabetical order, they are:
- Mike Buell, an English teacher and dog-walker living in Madrid. Originally from Baltimore and Ithaca, NY, Mike graduated from Binghamton University with degrees in Computer Science and English.
- Chris Gray, an American journalist living in Heidelberg, Germany, whose writing has appeared in venues such as Budget Travel and Student Traveler.
- Jason Erik Lundberg, a soon-to-be-expat in Singapore who runs the indie publishing atelier Two Cranes Press with his wife Janet Chui. He has his own blog at jasonlundberg.net, and he produces a literary podcast called “Lies and Little Deaths: A Virtual Anthology.”
- Kristen Pope, a writer, naturalist, and museum educator who lives in Northern California when not working in Denali National Park, Alaska.
- Stacey Tuel, an aspiring gypsy who lives on a bucolic little farm in Northern California. When she’s not traveling, playing guitar, or making jam, she works on her Master’s degree in English with a focus on travel writing at Sonoma State University.
Welcome, new bloggers! We also welcome reader feedback as we iron out our new system in coming weeks — and we look forward to providing you with a wealth of vagabonding and indie travel information, links, and reviews in coming months…
