Danny DeVito on what drives the tourist economy

“I’ve been to the Leaning Tower of Pisa. It’s a tower, and it’s leaning. You look at it, but nothing happens, so then you look for someplace to have a sandwich.”
–Danny DeVito, “What I’ve Learned,” Esquire, Jan. 2011

One Response to “Danny DeVito on what drives the tourist economy”

  1. Rudolph Aspirant Says:

Well, after reading this quip, I have reached the conclusion that Mr. Danny de Vito, who, as a talented comic actor, must surely have a lot of empathy for the human condition, including immense pity, understanding, and concern for the more predisposed hysterical level anxious among us, was actually expertly trying to help us, travellers to Italy, not to fall prey to a possible episode of the Stendhal syndrome, by giving us a gentle reality slap on our faces.
