Word from Nicaragua

Greetings from Granada, Nicaragua. You may have noticed that I haven’t updated this blog much since I left Mexico. There is a reason for this: I will soon be writing a dispatch for Slate.com about my Central American transit, and I don’t want to spoil things for that article by talking too much about my experiences here.

If you want to get up to speed on the doings of our Land Rover expedition, check out dispatches from my expedition teammates at the Drive Around the World journal page, which I edit from the road.

Hi Rolf! I’m sure you don’t rememeber me but I am one of Chris Hauk’s senior film students at Upland High School. After your visit to us I read your book before Chris even had the chance and loved it. Your words made my desire for travel around the world so more intense that I filled out an application for the take Me With You! program for Drive Around the World. I have yet to narrow down my field of study for school next year, and the top three finialists are film, public relations in the entertainment industry, and writting. I would love to even fall into the career you have. To be able to travle and paint pictures of exotic lands with words would be amazing. I hope that your trip is going wonderfully and if you have any advice for a hopeful youth trying to find her way to far off worlds, please let me know. Happy travles and perhaps I will hearfrom you soon!

    Sincerely,

    Tori Nagle
