Vagablogging contest: win a copy of The Lost City of Z
Last week we told you about the fascinating new book from David Grann, The Lost City of Z: A Tale of Deadly Obsession in the Amazon. Well, good news Vagablogging readers, we have a copy to give away.
If you’re interested in a free copy of The Lost City of Z, just post a comment below answering this Fawcett trivia question:
When Percy Fawcett disappeared in the Amazon, he was trekking with his son and another man — what was the name of Fawcett’s third companion?
Feel free to use Wikipedia or any other source (we’d never know if you did anyway). The first person with the right answer gets the book. Be sure to include your correct email address in the comment form and I’ll contact you to get a mailing address.
Good Luck!

The name of Fawcett’s third companion? If Fawcett was only trekking with his son and another man, then Fawcett only had two companions, not three. Was this a trick question?

I agree with Mike. Give the man the book!

Crap, I knew this would never end up being simple. Jilly, you win, but Mike you’ll get something for pointing out the poor phrasing.

Well, the third companion was not “Good luck.” So if this is a trick question, will you give me the answer if I come to your panel discussion at the Tucson Festival of Books this weekend?
Otherwise, of course, you were looking for Raleigh Rimmell. It’s okay. Writers aren’t supposed to be able to count, too.
