For the record: I’ve written 423 posts this year for my personal blog (probably a higher word count than the book I wrote this year) and didn’t get paid a cent. Professional writers write for free too.

Jquaglia – I’m afraid someone more technically knowledgeable than I am would have to answer that question, as far as links embedded in the byline. But I know a lot of Vagabloggers have steered readers towards their own sites in their posts — many of us write for other sites (or our own blogs) that offer valuable resources for travelers, and this is a great place to share them.

Merrill – True. But you’ll note this site doesn’t have any ads — it’s a shared resource, and those of us who choose to contribute do so knowing no one is profiting off our work except other travelers.

I’ve noticed that none of the posts on this blog ever link to other URLs of the site’s bloggers.

The best way to get exposure online always seems to be linking to my own blog from a guest post I make somewhere or a comment I make.

Would we have the ability to link to another site which may provide a more in depth look at our journeys? Or are the stories we tell and the exposure we get limited strictly by our posts here?
