Travel bloggers come together to raise funds for charity

As people interested in travel, we are obviously interested in the world around us, and I’m sure that all of us have thought about how we can make a difference. Any teeny weeny difference. There are many initiatives you can take part in, but if you want something effortless to kick-start your “making a difference” motivation, have a look at the Passports With Purpose program.

This is unique (and definitely a first) because it is an initiative put together by 4 well-known travel bloggers (DeliciousBaby, Nerd’s Eye View, WanderMom, and WanderlustAndLipstick) that has managed to bring together over 40 other travel bloggers, to spread the word too, make things happen, and make a difference. Welcome to social networking that can make a difference!

Over the past couple of weeks, various travel bloggers have found prizes that are to be won through a raffle. Raffle coupons are available at FirstGiving.com for a mere $10. All proceeds will go to Heifer International, a non-profit organisation that works towards eliminating hunger and poverty around the world. Bloggers have helped by finding sponsors, spreading the word, and encouraging people to buy a raffle ticket.

What can you do? Spend 5 minutes, look through the prizes (full list here), and buy a raffle ticket before December 29. Prizes will be announced December 30. If you are a blogger, spread the word! More questions, check out the FAQ here, and browse through the entire program here.
