The biggest problem with self publishing anything is how to get the word out, via advertising and word of mouth and Internet searching, that your book is available. Without adequate marketing clout, even the best book will remain unseen, and unbought. This is where commerical publishers come in, they are good at marketing, distribution and sales. No sales, no book.
