Thanks for linking to my site, but I will note that the 22 months included two distinct trips. I think if I had spent 22 months on one trip the costs would have been lower since I wouldn't have had two sets of long haul flights, additional vaccinations and gear purchases. I'm glad to see people are getting use out of my site, the main reason I went through the trouble was to create a resource that I couldn't find when I was planning my first trip in 2003. I think its hard to base your own trip on someone else’s budget but it does help to look it over even if it just gives you an idea of things you might not have budgeted for.
