GeoBeats offers useful videos, blog

Guidebooks and internet forums are great resources for finding out more about your next destination, but they almost never make you feel like you’ve been momentarily transported to your destination. That’s where GeoBeats.com comes in. Described as “Youtube meets The Travel Channel,” Geobeats is a wonderfully useful site filled with two-minute videos about topics as diverse as local etiquette in Trinidad, public transportation in Tokyo, and the art scene in Berlin. According to its website, GeoBeats’ mission is “to make high quality, down to earth, and well researched travel videos available to international travelers.” The videos pair filmmakers with local tour guides, and the resulting videos are as impressive as they are informative.

GeoBeats is perfect for whipping up some excitement about your next trip, or for simply taking a two-minute escape from the stuck-at-home doldrums. Go on, give it a look.

The filmmakers and hosts also maintain an interesting blog here, which offers an insider view on destinations all over this big blue marble. It is updated daily and chock-full of photos and commentary.
