This month at the RolfPotts.com Travel Writers page, I interview legendary Bay Area travel editor Don George, whose how-to book Travel Writing will hit bookstores in a matter of days.

Don was my editor and mentor back in my Salon.com days, and he has since gone on to become the Global Travel editor for Lonely Planet. Over the years, Don has published more than 600 articles in newspapers and magazines around the globe and edited four travel anthologies — The Kindness of Strangers, A House Somewhere: Tales of Life Abroad, Salon.com’s Wanderlust, and Travelers’ Tales: Japan. He often appears as a travel expert on radio and television, and speaks on travel writing and travel industry issues around the world.
