20 Places to see before they vanish

ProTraveller has posted a list of 20 Cities, Islands & Countries Threatened By Global Warming.

The post points out that while British Columbia is hoping the temperature boost will help their wine thrive, it may very likely put other parts of the world in dire straights. Newsflash: The planet is getting colder, not warmer.

But agreed we should stop poisoning the planet, including not spewing toxins into the atmosphere.

When I saw that Tokyo, Japan are on the list of flooding engangered zones i quickly figured out why The Japanese are already attempting to build cities on water. I wonder how long it takes for the regions on the list to vanish completely?

    Before they vanish!?

I think it’s incredibly irresponsible and somewhat ironic that you would encourage poeple to go to these endangered places.

As air travel is one of the biggest contributors to CO2 emissions, the last thing these places need are hoards to backpackers decending upon them.

Further, supposed ‘eco-tourism’ has gradually wrecked places such as the Galapagos islands.

For the sake of environmental sustainablity and just straightforward ethics, this list should be entitled ‘Places That Should Be Avoided.’
